Ahh Belize. Paradise – especially when you go in the dead of Canadian winter. I’ve had quite a few people ask “why Belize?”. I usually answer “because I’ve heard it’s beautiful, and I’ve never been there before”. I guess that could be a lot of places, but for me Belize has long been a place I dreamed of going.
My wife Amy and I and our one-and-a-half year old daughter Claire spent 10 days in Belize, mostly on the gorgeous island of Caye Caulker, which is a 45 minute boat ride from Belize City. It’s impossible not to relax on this tiny island – where everything slows down, and getting too much sun is really one of the only things a pale Canadian guy like me could worry about. The natural beauty of Caye Caulker is astounding, and the people there are as carefree as they are friendly. Belize, we’ll be back!

There are no cars on the Island of Caye Caulker, so bikes are everywhere
